"All for One and One for All!" makes a great family motto when it comes to an emergency evacuation. If all the jobs called, and knows exactly what to do, your family and pack your bags out of town before most of the other families, their toothbrushes. To enable this and avoid the panic, chaos and unnecessary tears, your family needs an evacuation plan.

When I started thinking about it, visualize the possibility of evacuation from our house, I panic. I immediatelyrecognized the need for a written list of procedures in two or three locations and has created a family reunion or two, to ensure that everyone was informed and on board. I like our evacuation plan together, it was clear five basic steps.

1 Provisions for animals.
2 Pack personal items, food and water.
3 Prepare the house.
4 Prepare your important documents and computers.
5 Ensure the vehicle ready to go.

Follow these five easy steps to create your ownTo delegate evacuation plan and evidence and then.

1 Provisions for animals

I have this at the top of my plan, because the words of Proverbs 12:10 a, "The divine healing for their animals," and because they are crazy about our four dogs and our cat Daisy alone. There were so many unnecessary tragedies involving beloved pets after Hurricane Katrina, and after that I developed, I decided that I never leave behind.

After taking the decisionto free one of the first steps should be to contain them. You do not need them under your feet as you race around, and your children are sure of their beloved pets will be cared for. Delegate this task to one or two family members.

Depending on the size of your dogs and cats, you can load their first cassette in the vehicle and then the animal (s). So, is the first on my list of dog crate and load Tahoe each dog was lying inside. We have four small dogs, so that all stand in ahow convenient!

Pre-positioning collars, leashes, bowls and water and canned food, along with some dog food, two large Zip-Loc double-bagged. (The ants love dog food!) Add the dog, and you're ready to go!

Our next step is to put the cat in its crate, and keep them away from dogs! If your cat is not used in a vehicle, now is the time for-the-Cat Crate practice! Together with his crate, pack a small pack of cat litter and her food.

If you are the proud ownersFish, reptiles, rodents and / or farm animals to determine whether you take them, let alone with an abundance of food and water transportation, or other location. Do you have a plan B in case of sudden change of circumstances carefully.

2 Needs personal, food and water

While the family-designated animals rounding, Managing Director, is responsible for the following.

Loading or 72-hour kits, if you have them. Take your timenow put together these kits, while having the time and are not required. Porto 72-hour car kit in my Tahoe any time in case of emergency during the trip. If we had only time to access our kits, we have enough to survive at least to us through the first three or four days.
firearms and ammunition or cargo. Weapons are looking for one of the first things that the Vandals, and I do not want to fall into the wrong hands. In a worst-case scenario, you canneed for defense.
or cash. I usually keep it in twenty dollars or less. In the event of widespread power outage, ATM machines and credit card / debit card will not work. I want to be sure we can arrange for hotels, gas and groceries to pay.
o An emergency Cabinet: a five-gallon pail with plastic coating. This bucket holds a couple of small blankets, toilet paper and a bottle of bleach / water mixture. You can even buy a toilet seat designed to fit one of these buckets. I have readAccounts of the evacuation of Hurricane Ike in 2008, and I do not think my family with the side of the street as a toilet. Enough said.
Add or extra food and water, as there is room for. Their 72-hour emergency kit containing provisions, but the additional food will always be useful. Collapsible jerry cans are a good option because they occupy less space gradually as they are emptied. Water weighs
bedding or as sleeping bags, blankets and pillows. How much can youto take with you depends on how much space you have left your vehicle. I always threw a couple of light blankets under the back seat, just in case.

3 Prepare the house

If you drive from home, no doubt, have feelings of sadness and perhaps losses. Write a plan to protect your home if you must evacuate, and you will find the possibility of a house to house, to raise. Here is a checklist that I used.

Turn off gas or water.
Revenue orPanel and turn all scored for the power switch for the kitchen.
Disconnect or all at home except the refrigerator, freezer and a light kitchen. Even if our whole neighborhood is evacuated, simply would not have occupied my house.
or unit and unplug the computer.
o Close and lock all windows. Close curtains and blinds.
or A depending on the weather data, turn off air conditioning and / or heat or put it to a minimum.

Package 4important documents and computers

o Put our force field. (This includes things like the original Social Security cards and birth certificates.)
Pack and go to my grave, or binder containing copies of important financial documents and the family, and my mom survival binder with printed information useful in an emergency, such as maps and directions for cleaning water.
• Use a flash drive to store important business and financial information from our desktops. Packaging Flash DrivePortable.
Package or our laptop. Be sure to include the charger!

5 Ensure the vehicle ready to go

We hope to have an eye on the weather and news and made sure that your vehicle tank is full. In addition to that simple here, of course, have a few more.

Enter or second fuel tanks if you have them.
Package or the tools we need. A hammer or a screwdriver, Phillips could make a difference in the world in a scenario survival benefit.
o BeMake sure you have everything you need to deal with a flat tire, including a spare.

Depending on how long we have and how much space is left in Tahoe, we also pack extra clothes. There is a change of clothes or two in our kit of 72 hours, but if you are away for days or weeks, we will need more. We can package in large plastic garbage bags. Ugly, but are not as bulky as suitcases. Hey, it could double as a raincoat in case of emergency!

If our plan was ready, I discussedevery step with my husband, and we transferred the duties to another individual family member. In a crisis situation, the tasks will help defuse the feelings of panic and confusion. It 'hard to become more hysterical when you focus on something. Not impossible! Only harder!

I am well aware that the evacuation in an emergency can happen there, while my husband is not home, so I made sure I know how to turn off the gas, water and electricity when it's all boys andme.

It 'a step missing. Will this really work? How long it will take and no room for passengers in the Tahoe when it is loaded? Of course we need to evacuate. Sounds like a great summer family activity to me!

"Hey, kids! Suppose that there is a mountain of red hot lava pounce on us, and we leave the house in 30 minutes. Everyone knows that their job? Okay! Ready ..... GO!"

If you live in an area prone to hurricanes,Forest fires and the like, you already know a thing or two about interceptions in a hurry. Share your experiences and suggestions in this blog.
